Can chlorine tablet on the bottom of above ground pool damage the liner?

I am trying to clear up a seriously green above ground pool. I am following my distributors instructions. Part of those instructions was to put a floating chlorinator in the pool, I tried to get in the middle of my pool by tossing it. Well.......of course it tipped over and all the tabs floated to the bottom. I was able to retrieve one by dragging the bottom with a skimmer, but the other three remain hidden in the green muck! I really don't want to get into the pool, but I will if the alternative is a new liner. Please I need to know! Help!!
