I have been a stable hand for 7 months and know the baisics, but not sure wheather im ready for a horse?

i know the baisics eg, mucking out, feeding, grooming, tacking up and i can ride, i really want a horse and a lovely horse at my yard is for sale, im not sure wheather i need more experince before i go straight into buying a horse?
