I just got moved to fullback in rugby, would you say thats a demotion or promotion?

I used to be outside center, and now im the fullback. they said it was so we can use me for more plays and its a really important position, but i feel like i was demoted. I'm the fastest besides fly, and we worked plays, but would you say the fullback is a step down?
